Elatha Ferguson, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on July 18, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born in Mississippi, and those who had the privilege of knowing him will forever cherish the memories of a man who led his life with warmth, cheerfulness, and deep devotion to his family.

Elatha's passion for life was evident through his many interests. He loved sports, enjoyed music, and had a talent for cooking, often sharing delightful meals with his family and friends. He was particularly proud of his career as a barber, taking joy in the connections he made with each patron throughout the years.

A committed family man, Elatha always treated his daughter and sons with kindness, demonstrating unwavering support and love. He is survived by his children, Dathena (Tony) Sanders, Bryant Ferguson, and Mickey Reynolds, who carry his spirit and values forward. He was also the cherished grandfather of Alexis Brown Owings, Marcus Dejournett, Ja'Marion, Jamya, Jayionte, Darrius, Jordan, Marcus, Cameron, Mariah, Camlaya, Chris, and both Mickey (girl) and Mickey (boy). Elatha delighted in the company of his several great-grandchildren, whose laughter would fill his heart with joy.

He is remembered by his siblings Stevie, Dewane, and Abilia, who mourn the loss of a loving brother. Elatha's legacy will also be felt by the many friends and family whose lives he touched throughout his journey.

He now joins his dear siblings Marilyn, Barbara, Johnny, Doris, Lorraine, Lee, and Uncle Cee, as well as grandchildren Raymon Austin and Cameron Mayfield, and his great-grandchild Jasmine Brown, all of whom have preceded him in death.

As family and friends remember Elatha Ferguson, they are united in their appreciation for a life lived fully, with a heart dedicated to loving and uplifting those around him. He will be deeply missed, yet fondly remembered, by all who had the honor of knowing him.
