Ethel Mae Ratliff was born in Mount Sterling, KY March 8, 1944 to Walter and Cynthia (Lane) Martin. She passed away at her home in Cloverdale, IN on September 15, 2025. She is survived by her husband, Roy Roger Ratliff, and two daughters Bonnie Johnson and Crystal Parker.
Ethel was a dietician for the employee cafe at Indianapolis Power and Light before taking a manager position at the Waters of Indianapolis, where she remained until retirement.
Ethel was most proud of her family! She guided her two girls by encouraging them to go after their passion in life. Bonnie is a designer at Silver Bell Flowers in Cloverdale, while Crystal has been heard on 13 radio stations nationwide. Ethel was also all about her grandkids! Both Ryan and Kyle Johnson and now their children have enjoyed the kind of love only a woman like Ethel could give, and they feel so blessed. In our Mom's lifetime, she helped guide seven souls to heaven, enabling them to pass away with dignity. Two were her beloved sisters. Millie and Mary. After 80 years of helping others, it's time for our Mom, Wife, Sister, Aunt and Grandma to rest in the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ. May her many loved ones in Heaven surround her as she did for so many here on earth. Our favorite Mom quote: "Do what you LOVE for a living and you'll never work a day in your life"-Ethel Ratliff
