Gloria Jean Sanders

Gloria Jean Sanders, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on August 9, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on February 18, 1960, Gloria dedicated over a decade of her life as a Healthcare Housekeeper at Wishard Hospital, where she not only cared for the environment but also touched the lives of many with her kindness and compassion.

Gloria was a proud graduate of Washington High School, where she first discovered her commitment to helping others, a spirit that guided her throughout her life. She was deeply committed to her family, always showing up for everyone who needed her support, and it was her love for family and friends that defined her life. Whether it was yard sailing or spending precious moments with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, Gloria cherished every opportunity to create lasting memories.

She married Johnny Ray Sanders on August 3, 2006, a union that brought her immense joy and companionship. Gloria's pride shimmered through her storytelling of joyful experiences shared with her children - Sabrina, Ronnie Jr., and Dustin Decker - as well as her eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, all of whom were the light of her life.

While we mourn the loss of Gloria, we hold dear the memories of her vibrant personality and unwavering love. She is survived by her children, son-in-law Michael Decker, her siblings James Johnson, Linda Page, Judy Hall, and Diane Sweazey, along with a legacy of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will forever carry her spirit in their hearts.

Gloria is preceded in death by her son, Ronnie Decker Jr., as well as siblings James Johnson, Linda Page, and Judy Hall. Their memories shall remain a part of her story, an everlasting tribute to a life well-lived.

Visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 925 E Hanna Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46227, on August 14, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service celebrating her remarkable life will take place the following day at the same location from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Gloria Jean Sanders will be remembered for her warmth, her laughter, and the abundant love she shared with her family and friends. She leaves behind a heartbroken but grateful family who will cherish her memory for years to come.
