Jerry Dean Shaw Jr., a beloved father, son, and friend, passed peacefully at age 41 on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born on May 4, 1984, in Indianapolis, he was known for his vibrant personality and the joy he brought to those around him.
As the owner and operator of "Shaw's Flooring," Jerry dedicated his life to his work while seamlessly blending it with his passions and love for his family. His career was marked by an unwavering commitment to excellence, and he took pride in serving his community.
Jerry was not only a devoted father to Nevaeh Shaw, Trevon Shaw, and Tyler Wells, but he also cherished his role as a grandfather to Scotlynne May Eastwood. His family meant everything to him, and he found immense joy in spending time with them, traveling, and creating lasting memories. His love extended to his siblings, Tia Clark and her husband Mark, Roger Farr, and Kelly Nuetzman and her husband Brad, as well as his numerous nieces and nephews, including Alexis Shaw, Delaney Campbell, Kyrstin Farr, Liberty Nuetzman, Kaiden Farr, Justice Nuetzman, and Tyson Nuetzman.
Alongside his family, Jerry had a passion for life that shone through in his many interests. He was an avid pool player who enjoyed outdoor adventures on four-wheelers and dirt bikes. A devoted Michael Jordan enthusiast, Jerry collected Jordan shoes and celebrated Halloween with delight. He loved watching fireworks, sharing laughs, and expressing himself through tattoos, all reflections of his fun-loving spirit.
Additionally, he is survived by his loving mother, Jennifer Lynn (Binkley) Farr; father, Jerry Dean Shaw Sr.; step-mother, Kimberly Shaw; and ex-wife, Stephanie Carver. Jerry is preceded in death by his step-father, Michael Farr, and his grandparents, Jenny Binkley, Clay Shaw, and Linda Farr.
Jerry's visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home in Indianapolis on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by the funeral service commencing at 5:00 PM with Pastor Luke Campbell officiating.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, remembered for his warmth, humor, and the unwavering support he offered to everyone in his life. Jerry Dean Shaw Jr. leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a zest for life that will continue to inspire those who had the honor of knowing him.
