Jerry M. Woodall Sr. passed away on February 12, 2026. As a member of the Teamsters, Jerry was a semi driver for McLean Trucking, Preston Trucking, and retired from Roadway in 2008. Jerry loved drag racing and drove in his younger years, as well as later in life, building and driving his own drag cars, eventually retiring from the driver's seat, but still owned and worked on his own car while allowing a younger man to drive.
Jerry was a great fan of Elvis Presley and former NASCAR driver, Ernie Irvan. Jerry was also fond of playing Blackjack and was a regular at the casino in Shelbyville and enjoyed many trips to Las Vegas. Jerry was also a great fan of the Indianapolis Colts.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Minnie Woodall; sister, Edna Cherry; wife, Paula Woodall; and nephew, Michael Cherry. He is survived by three children, Kathy (Neil-d) Upshaw, Jerry M. (Natalie) Woodall Jr.; and Jeffrey (Bobbie) Woodall. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Randee (Mike) Purichia, Scott Gill, Kayla (Darin) Richart, Jeffrey (Shelby) Woodall II, Michael (Jamie) Woodall, Carolyn Woodall, and Timothy Woodall; and nine great-grandchildren, Layla Wilson, Anthony Wilson, Ellie Richart, Jackson Russell, Gracelyn Harris, Dahlia Woodall, Lily Woodall, Rawlings Woodall, and Aliya Woodall; one great-grandchild, Charlotte Wright; Nieces Karen (Stan) Ray and Tracey Osborn; Nephew David (Pat) Osborn; and his fur baby, Gidget.
A funeral service for Jerry will be held Wednesday, February 18 at 1 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, & Receptions located at 925 East Hanna Avenue Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. Friends may gather for visitation from 11 am until the time of the service. A gathering will be held immediately following the service at 2009 Colt Road. There will be no graveside service as it was Jerry's wish to be cremated.
