John Allen Carmichael

On Sunday, July 26, John and his life’s love, Mary McGuire, were enjoying a motorcycle ride with friends. It was a beautiful summer day in the country. John and Mary were doing what they loved to do. Unfortunately, they were in a devastating accident. They both suffered catastrophic injuries. John passed away peacefully on Friday, July 31. Sadly, Mary succumbed to her injuries and met John in heaven Sunday, August 2.

John Allen Carmichael, 56, was born in Indianapolis to Jack and Shirley Carmichael on November 9, 1969, John attended Emmerich Manual High School and later received his degree from Purdue University. Mechanically inclined, John was employed with Goodwill Industries of Central and Southern Indiana as a Maintenance Superintendent. John enjoyed working on motorcycles and cars, woodworking and riding his Harley. He also enjoyed spending time with his and Mary’s families and many friends. In later years John found his faith in the Lord and lived a loving life with Mary. 

Surviving are his daughter Angel Brackin; sons Jonathan (Brittany) Carmichael and Christopher Carmichael; grandchildren Noah Fischer, Natalie Fischer, Kylie Carmichael, Jonathan Carmichael Jr., Loralai Carmichael and Raiden Carmichael; Mary’s children David Bowman and Esther Bowman; grandchildren Kayla Bowman and Aryana Rodriguez; brother James Taylor; sisters Brenda Booher and Jackie Divine; several nephews and nieces; and many dear friends. John was preceded in death by his parents and sister Linda Carter.
