Judith Anne Tilton, born on April 10, 1951, in Oaklyn, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana. A 1969 graduate of Southport high school, Judith attended Butler University, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education. She later enjoyed a successful career as a benefits paralegal working with actuaries, accountants and benefit managers at insurance companies, accounting firms, and benefit consultants and was respected for her analytical skills and commitment to her work for many years before retiring.
Judith converted to the Hebrew faith and was a member of Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation since her conversion September 20, 1985. Judith served on the Indiana Commission on Mental Health for several years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edmund B. Tilton and Martha D. Tilton. Judith is remembered by her brothers, John Tilton (Kathie), Jim Tilton (Mary Jo) and nephews Chris Tilton (Heather) and Jeff Tilton (Kristin).
Friends of Judy will fondly recall her keen sense of humor, singular wit, and heartfelt dedication she exhibited to the beloved four-legged members of her household throughout the years.
Charitable donations in Judith’s name can be made to the Indianapolis Humane Society and / or the ASPCA.
