June Catherine-Ann Casteel, 87, of Indianapolis, IN was greeted by her Lord and Savior on February 1, 2026. June was born August 12, 1938, to the late Della Marie Bayly. Working a variety of jobs throughout her life, often 2 at a time, her true calling was raising her 6 children and 20 grandchildren; having lived with all of them at some point or the other. During this time, June enjoyed supporting her sons and their love for the Colts. She was a large supporter of their Blue Bus Guys group and loved nothing more than feeding a parking lot of strangers before every Sunday Home Kick-off. Although she never stopped rooting on the Colts & Pacers, she often was bad luck during Playoff runs if she watched it on TV., often hearing, “They’re playing at 7 tonight Mom, make sure you don’t watch it.” She always loved dancing, country music, was an avid Elvis Presley fan, and playing Yahtzee; always having a handheld digital version in the side pocket of her chair. The Christmas season was her favorite with her home always being decked to the halls and had the biggest giving spirit to her that will continue to shine on. June married Truman in 1954 and again in 2014 to live the rest of their days in companionship.

In addition to her mother, June is proceeded in death by her Grandparents Earl and Myrtle Bramlett; stepfather; Larry Bayly, Husband of a combined 29 years; Truman Casteel, son; Joseph Casteel, 2 brothers; Earl Anderson and Denny Anderson, & Granddaughter Amanda Casteel Laymon. She is survived by her children; Michelle (Wayne) Shirley, Leanne (Keith) Reed, Jeffrey (Michelle) Casteel, David (Chris) Casteel, Michael (Stephanie) Casteel, Brother; Art (Sue) Smith, 19 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family, & several 4-legged fur grands.

A funeral service for June will be held Thursday, February 5 at 7 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, & Receptions located at 925 East Hanna Avenue in Indianapolis 46227. Friends may gather for visitation from 5 pm until the time of the service.
