Junior F. Dillon, of Indianapolis, passed away on March 11, 2026. He was born on November 25, 1944, in Celina, Tennessee, to Andrew B. and Lola Dillon.
Junior spent most of his working life as a machinist, a job he took seriously and did well. He worked at Induswheel from 1968 to 1992 and later at Diamond Chain until retiring in 2010. He believed in showing up, doing the job right, and taking care of his responsibilities. People who worked with him knew him as dependable and steady, the kind of person you could count on.
Outside of work, Junior was happiest spending time with his wife, Marcella. The two of them enjoyed a quiet life together, often relaxing at home or stopping by the VFW. Anyone who knew them could see how much they meant to each other.
Junior also enjoyed sports, especially basketball, and had liked playing when he was younger. More than anything, though, he valued time with his family and the simple routine of everyday life.
He is survived by his son, Joseph Dillon (Jenny); grandchildren Cassi Dillon, Christopher Nichols, and Daniel Nichols; his brother Clark Dillon; and his sisters Sammy Chittwood and Viola Dillon.
He was preceded in passing by his wife, Marcella Dillon; his parents, Andrew B. and Lola Dillon; his granddaughter Becky Dillon; his brothers John, Jube, and Winton Dillon; Jeff Kidwell; and his sisters Lucy Hammock and Nell Key.
Visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home in Indianapolis on March 16, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with funeral services beginning at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at New Crown Cemetery at 2:00 PM.
