Kathy Anne Bornstein (Peters) of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 4th, 2026, in the comfort of her home.
Born on April 23, 1960, in Owensboro, Kentucky, Kathy was a generous woman who held a special place in her heart for her family and friends. Despite facing personal challenges and many health difficulties over the years, she found profound joy in simple acts of kindness and the deep bonds she shared with those she loved. Kathy is now at peace, free from the burdens that plagued her for so long.
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us."- Romans 8:18
Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Peters; her mother-in-law, Patricia Bornstein; her sister-in-law, Theresa Harris; her nephew, Ryan Matthew Peters; both her maternal and paternal grandparents, as well as her bonus grandparents, Reverend Robert E. and Christine Wilson Hughes, and her aunt Bobbie Allieen Hughes.
Kathy meant the world to so many and carried many titles. Some of her most cherished titles included “wife” to her loving and devoted husband, Keith Bornstein, who cared for her tirelessly until her final breath; "Momma" to her daughter, Amanda Oliver-O’Toole (Joe); "Kat" to her cherished stepdaughters, Andrea Warner (Austin Reed) and Jessica Bornstein-Vandeventer; and "Granny" to her six deeply adored grandchildren: William Warner, Chloe O’Toole, Samuel O’Toole, Emma Warner, Graham Vandeventer, and Juliette Vandeventer. She was the eldest daughter of her mother, Janice Peters, and a beloved sister to Karen Holt (Bobby) and Kristine Peters. Many extended family members and dear friends will mourn Kathy's passing, yet they will simultaneously rejoice in her Heavenly homecoming, knowing her faith has carried her home. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Kathy’s family will hold a Celebration of Life Ceremony on Saturday, July 11, 2026 from Noon to 2pm EST at Newcomer Funeral Home, 925 E. Hanna Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46227.
