With hearts full of love and remembrance, we gather in spirit to honor the extraordinary life of Kelly J Barger, who passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026, at the age of 63. Born on March 4, 1963, Kelly’s journey through life was marked by compassion, enduring strength, and a devotion to her family that never wavered.
Kelly’s legacy is reflected most warmly in the lives of those who survive her. She leaves behind her beloved son, Matt Barger and his wife Kayla, whose lives she nurtured with unconditional love and quiet wisdom. Her first granddaughter, Addilyn Mae. Her mother, Hazel Stover, remains a living testament to the strong bonds of family that Kelly held so dear. Brothers Rick and Sandy Arnold and Jeff Arnold continue forward, each carrying with them cherished memories of their sister’s laughter and support, memories that will sustain them in the days and years ahead.
Though she has gone to rest, Kelly is reunited with those who preceded her in passing, including her devoted husband Garland Barger, whom she missed profoundly. The reunion now includes her step-father Herbert Stover and her sister Kittie Arnold, whose memories Kelly held close to her heart, finding comfort in the deep, unbreakable ties they shared.
Kelly found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She treasured the quiet hours spent drinking coffee beneath the pines—a ritual that reflected her deep appreciation for nature and tranquility. Gardening was another of Kelly’s passions; her hands were most at peace in the earth, nurturing both flowers and vegetables with care. Kelly’s love for animals, especially cats, was well-known among her family and friends; she always found room in her heart and home for any creature in need of kindness. Professionally, Kelly took pride in her work as a bookkeeper, where her attention to detail and dedication stood as another testament to her steadfast character. Her absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, and yet her spirit remains, woven into the fabric of her family.
To honor Kelly, a visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 925 E Hanna Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46227. A funeral service celebrating her life will follow at 12:00 PM at the same location. All who knew Kelly, whether through bonds of blood or friendship, are welcome to pay their respects and share in the memory of her gentle spirit.
As we say goodbye, we remember Kelly not for the final chapter, but for every moment that made up her beautiful, meaningful life. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she loved most—her son, her family, and all whose lives she touched.
