Mary Jo Elliott

Mary Jo Elliott, beloved homemaker and devoted mother and grandmother, passed away on July 14, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born in Muncie, Indiana on December 10, 1942, Mary lived a life rich with family, love, and joy.

A proud graduate of Muncie Central High School, class of 1960, she embraced her role as a stay-at-home mom with unwavering dedication.

Her love for cooking was well-known, as she often delighted family and friends alike with her delicious meals. Her skills in cocktail making turned simple gatherings into memorable celebrations. An avid traveler, Mary embraced new experiences, exploring places that deepened her love for the world around her. She cherished moments spent on the water, enjoying boating and cruises, and unwinding by watching her favorite soap operas and game shows.

Mary will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Melodie Alexander, and her grandchildren: Victoria Ray, Evan Alexander, Danielle Alexander, Jonathon Elliott, and Jessica Elliott. And great-grandchildren: Easton Elliott, Julian Elliott, and Eliza Jo.

She is reunited in eternal rest with her cherished husband, Robert Elliott; her parents, Cordell and Gussie Gregory; her brother, Lyndell Gregory; and her step-daughter, Tammy Porter.

Friends and family are invited to honor her memory during visitation and memorial services to be held on July 26, 2025, at Newcomer Funeral Home in Indianapolis, Indiana. The visitation will take place from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a memorial service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, as we gather to celebrate the life of a remarkable woman.

Mary's warmth, kindness, and love for her family will be sorely missed.
