Listen to Obituary

Mary Beth Oldham, 63, of Indianapolis, passed away on December 1, 2025. She was born March 10, 1963, in Indiana to Frank Addington and Alice Shannon Wagner.

Mary devoted her life to her family and to creating a warm, welcoming home. She loved her children deeply and unconditionally, and everything she did was rooted in wanting the best for them. She was a talented artist who could draw beautifully, and she enjoyed crafting of all kinds, especially sewing and other hands-on projects. She also liked spending time in her yard and garden, finding peace in tending to things and being outdoors.

Mary had a big heart and a playful spirit. She loved going places and seeing new things, and an especially fond memory was her fiancé surprising her with a trip to Gatlinburg, a place she loved to visit with him. She liked to have fun and knew how to make sure others enjoyed themselves too. Just hearing her voice could lift a mood. She was also a wonderful cook who could make almost anything from scratch, a skill she happily shared with her family.

Her beloved dachshund, Tomtom, was her constant companion, and she treated him like another child.

Mary is survived by her children Michael Addington, Peggy (Earl) Holland, Mary Bargiel, and Melissa (Eric Wax) Walker; her brothers Joseph Wagner and Dean Addington; her father Tony Wagner; her significant other James “Jim” Perssinger; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews; and her dog, Tomtom.

She was preceded in passing by her father Frank Addington, her mother Alice Wagner, her sister Debbie Freeman, and her brother Jerry Addington.
