INDIANAPOLIS – Melody Michelle Lane, 63, passed away at 6:59 AM of lung cancer on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at Franciscan Hospice House in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born on December 10, 1959 in Decatur, Illinois.
Melody honorably served her country in the United States Army. She entered the service on April 28, 1981 in Indianapolis, Indiana and was honorably discharged on April 24, 1985 while stationed at Fort Dix, New Jersey. Melody received a Good Conduct Medal and Army Service Ribbon during her time in the Army. She married John Hitchcock on February 14, 2004 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Melody loved her family and especially her grandchildren deeply.
She is survived by her loving husband of 19 years, John Hitchcock; daughter, Tiffany Boron; son, Dylan Hitchcock; sister, Cami Harris; and grandchildren: Nathan Walker, Reggea Dennis, Landon Hitchcock and Carleigh Hitchcock.
