Myrtle Viola Wilkins, a cherished member of her family and community, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born on December 27, 1949, in Cookeville, Tennessee, Myrtle lived a life marked by her unwavering values and her nurturing spirit.

She dedicated her career to various roles, including serving as a Sous-Chef, working in Housekeeping, and fulfilling duties as a Gas Station Clerk. Myrtle was known for her diligence and commitment in every endeavor she undertook, always striving to support her family and provide for those she loved.

Myrtle was an individual of remarkable character; she was a woman of virtue who stood firmly on principles she believed in. Her hobbies included thrifting, gardening, and creating beautiful designs, whether growing plants or making curtains and pillows for her home. Myrtle enjoyed yard work and often engaged in creative pursuits like coloring and making collages, demonstrating her love for beauty and artistry in everyday life.

She is survived by her beloved companion, Phillip Liddle, and her three children, Feran Tabor, Lucricia Blanche Gilbrech, and Laura Stone. Myrtle was also a proud grandmother, leaving behind grandsons Tyler Gilbrech and Isaiah Thompson. She shared a special bond with her brother, Gordon Booher, and embraced her role as stepmother to Russell and Angie Wilkins. Myrtle was fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews, Lisa, Bethann, Christy Edwards, and Harold Edwards, and held a close relationship with her cousin and best friend, Lorene Hood.

Preceding her in death were two children, Melissa Stone and Maydine Roberts, and her beloved parents, Charles and Lola (Walker) Booher. She was also preceded by her siblings Beatrice Edwards, Jewel Booher, Ruby Booher, Buddy Booher, and Betty Zachery each of whom she held dear in her heart.

Myrtle’s legacy will continue to live on through the love she shared with her family, friends, and all whom she encountered in her life. She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.

Visitation for Myrtle will be held on Saturday June 14, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 925 E Hanna Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46227. Her contributions to family and community, alongside her virtuous character, will be remembered by all.
