Sam D Riddle

Sam D. Riddle was born on October 27, 1953, and passed away on July 2, 2026.

Sam lived a life defined by integrity, service, and quiet strength. He believed in doing what was right, standing by his convictions, and treating others with fairness and respect. Those who knew him will remember his steady presence, his dependable character, and his willingness to help whenever he was needed.

As a law enforcement officer, Sam dedicated himself to protecting his community and serving others with honor. He understood the responsibility that came with the badge and carried it with humility, courage, and professionalism. His commitment to public service reflected the values that guided every part of his life.

Beyond his career, Sam found meaning in the everyday moments shared with family, friends, and those fortunate enough to know him. He valued loyalty, honesty, and hard work, leaving a lasting impression through his actions more than his words. His calm demeanor, sense of humor, and genuine kindness made others feel welcome and respected.

Sam is survived by his children Jolene (David) McWherter, Lewis (Candace) Riddle, and Becky (Sam) Kindred; stepdaughter Sandy Bond; stepsons James Riddle and Lloyd; grandchildren Scotty, Larissa, Zack, Skyla, Elijah, Braydon, MaKaylon, Jaylon, Brandon, Tierra, Shyanne, Gracelynn, Faith, Ethyn, Christopher, Douglas, and Patrick; brothers Tommy Riddle and Terry Riddle; sister Shawna Reed; the mother of his children Patricia Riddle; 21 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family and friends.

Sam is preceded in passing by his parents, Sam and Kelly Riddle; and sisters Jeanie, Sharon, and Brenda. 

The memories of Sam will live on in the lives he touched, the example he set, and the friendships he built over the years. His legacy is one of faithful service, quiet courage, and unwavering character.

Though he is deeply missed, those who knew and loved Sam can take comfort in remembering a life well lived and a man who made a meaningful difference through his dedication to others. His memory will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of walking beside him.

Visitation for Sam will be Wednesday, July 22, 2026 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, & Receptions, 925 E Hanna Ave, Indpls, In 46227.  Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm, with burial to follow at New Crown Cemetery.
