Sharon L. Sylvester

Sharon L. (Woods) Sylvester, passed away on August 4, 2024, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the place of departure from this world was her home. Sharon was born in Sullivan, Indiana, on April 18, 1943, to Jack and Joetta (Wools) Woods.

Sharon proudly earned her Practical Nursing License on November 27, 1974. She worked well beyond typical retirement age. Her career in nursing was not only a profession but a calling that she embraced wholeheartedly. Colleagues and patients alike remember her for her unwavering care and empathy towards others.

One of the fondest memories cherished by those who knew Sharon was her expertise in cooking for large gatherings and extended family. 

In addition to her long nursing career and cooking skills, Sharon enjoyed spending time playing cards and working crossword puzzles. She was also an avid reader.

Sharon leaves behind her surviving family members: children, Denise A. Lipe, Robin M. Head (Phillip Savage), Donald "Sean" (Gina) Sylvester; siblings, Jack E. (MaryAnn) Woods; aunt, Betty West; grandchildren, Blake (Heather) Head, Eric Head, Austin Head, Chandler Head, Hunter Sylvester, Eva Sylvester, Avery Sylvester, Cameron Sylvester, Tara Giffin; great-grandchildren, Lincoln Giffin and Olivia Head.

She is preceded in death by her sisters, Susan J. Wilson and Shirley J. Leim; son-in-law Terry M. Lipe; grandson Wesley J. Giffin.

Sharon's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her memory will continue to live on through the love she shared with those around her.
