Indianapolis - Sherry Rae Smith Bauer, 71, passed away peacefully, after a brief battle with cancer, Thursday, May 28, 2015, at St Francis Hospital. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Bauer was born November 23, 1943 in Borden, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Jean Payton Smith. She is survived by her beloved husband, Thomas Bauer; son, Dennis Rickard and his wife, Teresa; daughters, Julie Graham, and Jana Sjoquist and her husband, Wayne; step-daughters, Melissa Peterson and Kelley Snow; 9 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Mrs. Bauer's life will be conducted Saturday, June 27, 2015, from 5 – 9 pm at the First Christian Church at 207 East Main Street in Borden, IN. The eulogy will begin around 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made, in Mrs. Bauer's memory, to a cancer or veteran's charity organization of your choice.
