Shirley Ellen Lindop, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on May 7, 2025, in Greenwood, Indiana, at the age of 90. Born on July 5, 1934, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Shirley was known for her vibrant spirit, her laughter, and her unwavering love for her family.
Throughout her life, Shirley dedicated herself to her family while also building a career that included roles as a Gift Wrapper at Blocks, and work at Long's Bakery and A1 Awards until her retirement. An alumna of Broad Ripple High School, she never lost her zest for learning and engaging with the world around her.
Shirley possessed a fun-loving personality that made her a joyful presence in the lives of all who knew her. She found happiness in playing games, caring for her beloved animals, and ensuring her neighborhood thrived. Her pride and joy were her children, whom she cherished deeply, often expressing that her greatest accomplishments were her family.
She is survived by her son, Greg (Angie) Lindop, daughters, Vicky Cook, Donna (Marty) Betzner, and Debbie Rene, along with numerous grandchildren: Connor, Stacy, Jeffrey, Lucas, Jamie, Jake, Amy, Mark, Brandon, Kelly, Randy, Shane, Shacota, Gary, Joe, and Danny. Additionally, she is remembered fondly by her many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Shirley was preceded in death by her daughter, Becky; sons, Gary and Lee; grandsons, Ian and William; an infant granddaughter; and siblings, Paul Wayne Copsy, Sylvia Verplank, and Jim Copsy.
Her legacy of kindness, laughter, and family devotion will forever be cherished and celebrated by those who were fortunate enough to know her.
