Steven Fuernstahl

Steven Fuernstahl, age 91, passed away on December 15, 2025, after a long and full life devoted to family, hard work, and simple joys. 

He shared 56 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Sharon. Steven was a loving and doting father to his three children: Heidi, Steven and his wife Noreen, and Susan and her husband Jeff.  He was also a proud grandfather to Jacob, Justin, Isaac, and Naomi, who brought him endless happiness.

Born in Hungary, Steven spent his early years in a small town near Stuttgart, Germany following World War II. In the 1950s, he immigrated to the United States and settled in Chicago. He served two years in the U.S. Army as a payroll clerk before beginning a long career as a machinist, producing drill bits for the auto industry. His dedication to his work was evident as he continued working until the age of 80.In 2014, Steven relocated to Arizona and later moved to Indianapolis in 2024 to be closer to extended family. 

He enjoyed daily walks with his dogs, a cold beer while watching soccer, sightseeing with his daughter, and cheering on his grandsons at their sporting events. Known for his humor, Steven loved sharing jokes and laughter with family and friends.

Steven is survived by his wife Sharon; his children Heidi, Steven (Noreen), and Susan (Jeff); and his grandchildren Jacob, Justin, Isaac, and Naomi.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Franz and Julia, and siblings Maria, Franz, Carl, Elizabeth, and Julia. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
