Sue Carol Plotz, born on April 9, 1941, in Indianapolis, Indiana, peacefully passed away on April 19, 2026, in her hometown. A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother, Sue will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Sue graduated from Southport High School and cherished her teenage years spent in the 1950s. She often shared fond stories of that vibrant era with her family, keeping the spirit of those days alive through her vivid recollections.
Known for her love of flowers, art, and baking, Sue nurtured these passions throughout her life. Her creative soul found joy in drawing, crafting, playing cards, and baking delicious treats enjoyed by her family. She also loved music and dancing in her younger days and was a true lover of holidays, delighting in decorating her home to celebrate each occasion with heartfelt enthusiasm.
Sue is survived by her four devoted children: Cathy Cottongim; Tim Plotz and his wife Lisa; Tom Plotz; and Cindy Plotz. Her legacy continues through her twelve grandchildren: Anthony Cottongim and his wife Angie; Tabitha Cottongim and her husband John; Mary Sue Myers and her husband Kenny; Donnie Plotz; Ronnie Plotz; Megan Hawn and her husband Chris; and Brittany Plotz. In addition, she was blessed with eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, William and Letha Higgens; her husband, Albert Neal Plotz; her sister, Maryanne Adcock; brother-in-law John Plotz; and son-in-law, Dwayne Cottongim.
Family and friends are invited to honor Sue’s memory with a visitation at the Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 925 E Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227, on April 28, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at the same location from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The burial will take place following the service at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, Indiana.
Sue Carol Plotz’s life was marked by her kindness, creativity, and deep devotion to her family. She will be remembered with love and respect by all whose lives she touched.
