Susan M Groce, lovingly known as Susie to many, passed away on July 3, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on February 28, 1962, Susan’s life was a testament to compassion, devotion, and enduring familial bonds.

Susan was the cherished wife of Brian Groce, with whom she shared countless years of partnership and support. Together, they built a family grounded in love and resilience. Susan was a devoted mother to Wiley Groce, whose companionship to Jessica brought Susan profound happiness, and she found immeasurable joy in her role as grandmother to Arya, with whom she shared a special bond.

Family was always at the center of Susan's world. She was a beloved aunt to Heather Burris, Stacy Hessman, Willie Burris, and Tommy Hessman, each of whom held a significant place in her heart. The warmth Susan extended to her family was matched by her fond remembrance of those who passed before her: her father, Charles Hessman; her mother, Ruth Hessman; her sisters, Julie, Joanie, and Cathy Hessman; and her brothers, Charlie and Bobby Hessman. Their memories were a constant source of strength for Susan, and her connection to them was unwavering.

A visitation in Susan’s honor will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 925 E Hanna Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46227, on Monday, July 13, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to gather to remember Susan and share in the legacy she leaves behind. The following day, a memorial service will be held at the same location on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, beginning at 7:00 p.m., to celebrate her life and the enduring mark she made on those she loved.
