Timothy "Tim" Knapp, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on May 22, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana, at the age of 68. Born on June 11, 1956, in Eureka, South Dakota, Tim's life was characterized by his straightforward nature, honesty, and unwavering loyalty to those he held dear.
Tim took pride in his family, who were his proudest accomplishments. He is survived by his devoted wife, Jackie L. Knapp; son Jason (Kelley) Knapp; daughter Lyla (Tim) Moody; and grandchildren Hailey Knapp, Jacob (Corryn) Knapp, Gage (Raina) Moody, Dalton Moody, and Bella (Kris) Miller. The joy of his life continued with the arrival of his great-grandchildren, Ion, Willow, Jaxtyn, Harlan, Matthew, Kaylani and Malakai.
Tim was also cherished by his siblings Susie (Tim) Beers, Mary (Roger) Smith, and Jennifer (Travis) Rondot, along with his adopted grandson Austin (Sophia) Johnson and his aunt and uncle, George and Stella Knapp. He left behind a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will always remember his kindness and support.
Throughout his life, Tim enjoyed hobbies that kept him close to nature, including fishing, gardening, and riding motorcycles. He had a passion for the outdoors, often relishing time spent camping and shooting, as well as an affinity for playing the drums and indulging in spicy food. He cherished the camaraderie of his "brothers" from bygone days, Quincy, Kringle, Red Dog, and the "Boys from the Garage."
Tim was predeceased by his parents, Ed and Leah Knapp; brother Thomas Knapp; sister Kathy Hedger; niece Sheila Meader; niece April Conley; and his mother- and father-in-law, Joe and Diane Gagen, along with his brother-in-law John.
A visitation will be held in Tim's honor at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 925 E Hanna Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46227, on May 27, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
His memory will live on through the love shared by his family and friends, who are grateful for the time spent with him and the lessons he imparted.
