Vanda Gonzales

Vanda Gonzales, a compassionate and spirited individual, passed away on February 11, 2026, at the age of 78 in Greenwood, Indiana. Born on September 14, 1947, in Indianapolis, Indiana, she dedicated her life to her career as a self-employed beautician, a profession she was passionate about for 47 years.

Vanda was known for her bright spirit and a personality that brought joy to those around her. She was a jokester who could light up any room with her laughter. Beyond her humor, she was also a talented cook, crafting delicious meals that brought family and friends together. Vanda had an adventurous side; she was an avid Bingo player and gambler, often savoring the thrill of the game while enjoying the company of those she loved.

Her family was the center of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Vanda adored her grandkids, and nothing brought her more joy than gathering around the table for family meals or celebrating holidays with her loved ones. She also enjoyed hunting for treasures at garage sales, always on the lookout for something special.

Vanda leaves behind her beloved children: Donald (Jenny) Luster, Jeffrey Luster, and Ashley Jones. She was a proud grandmother to Jeffrey Dale (Marissa) Moore, Nicholas (Gracie) Luster, Katie Moore, Hannah Luster, Callan Jones, and was blessed with six great-grandchildren, with one more on the way.

She joins in eternal rest her parents, James and Sally Grimes; her husband, Manny Gonzales; her first husband, Donald Luster; and her brothers, Bill Grimes, Dale Grimes, and Danny Grimes. She also mourns the loss of her grandson, Dylan Luster.

Visitation will be held on February 16, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home located at 925 E Hanna Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46227. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at the same location from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Vanda Gonzales will be dearly missed by her family and friends, who will always hold her memory close to their hearts.
