William L. “Bill E.” Beyer of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025. He was born to William L. Beyer Sr. and Janice L. (Roberts) Beyer on July 31, 1952 in Shelbyville, Indiana. Bill attended high school at the Latin School of Indianapolis. He was a proud member of the Boy Scouts of America in which he attained the rank of Eagle Scout.
Bill had a larger-than-life personality and a wide array of interests that reflected his curiosity and sense of fun. A talented bass guitarist, he had a lifelong love for music, especially anything on vinyl, with classic rock holding a special place in his heart. He also had a love for old movies, WWE wrestling, and the clever comedy of Firesign Theater. Those who knew him well remember his stubborn streak, but it was balanced by his warmth, humor, and loyalty to family and friends. He had a particular fondness for a good steak or fried chicken from the air fryer, and he could always be counted on for a lively story or a joke.
Bill was dedicated to his family above all else. He leaves behind his children, David Beyer and Laura Mabrey; grandchildren, Ashley and Anthony Mabrey, and Bethany and Alexander Beyer; siblings, Nancy Koehring, Jill Frye, Carol Beyer, Jeffrey Beyer, and Amy Click; and nieces and nephews Daniel Koehring, Erica Koehring, Ashley Ball, Brittany Sparks, Corinne Beyer, Keegan Click, and Kaden Click.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by his brother, Gregory Beyer,
Bill’s life was full of music, laughter, and love for those around him. In his own quiet way, he left a mark on everyone who knew him.
